Second day in town and I'm already binging on as much fabulous food as my belly can hold. I got a tip about a great Japanese restaurant from a few people, Nubo, just up the street from my rooms. I had passed it on the way in, but hadn't got a good look at it. So I wandered up on Monday night, and parked myself at the (sushi) bar.

Negotoro Tartar - tuna belly slightly too minced, turned sticky, overall good flavor and textures. Toast wasn't toasted enough.

Buta-Bara - smoked pork belly, Japanese mustard, kinda roasted pickled garlic. Tastes like campfire bacon, solid and smokey. Tender.

Sake Mussels - generous portion, incredible rich broth. Perfect cold rainy weather dish. Or getting over a cold or flu. I would drink it by the vat.

Toro - some of the best tuna belly I've ever had.

Saba - light flavor, perfect mackerel.
The staff were very friendly and chatty when engaged, quick with service and accommodating to requests. The food is definitely worth a try. I may go back and have more of the rolls soon...
