Roger's has been a landmark in my hometown of Rimbey for years. They are a local family, my siblings and I grew up with their kids, and I can't imagine Rimbey without them. Our family used to go out for a treat once in a while, I remember Mom would always have the chicken caesar salad, where chicken fingers were the chicken. It was awesome. Dad would have a Swiss mushroom burger. Eventually, Mom and I would have our girl days, and we would go there for lunch. I always love our time together, and every time I stop here or even pass by it, I remember our family treat days.
Apologies for the awkward pictures, this was one of my take-out meals, took a picture in the parking lot. Got a few looks, but whatevs! I'll get better pictures next time the family hits it up!

Double Pizza Burger - two beef patties, mozzarella, pizza sauce, Italian spices.
This has been my favorite burger in my small hometown for years. It's pretty simple, but the flavors go so well together. They put the bun on the grill too, so it's got a little bit of crispiness around the edges... soooooo gooooood. The Italian spices add so much flavor, and the cheese is the kind that strings out forever. You cooooould get the single, but WHY?? Just get the double, just do it. It's worth it.

Fries - ... potato fries.
Ok, so yes, fries are pretty basic, but it's easy to do them badly. Either burnt or soggy, bland, meh. But THESE, these are crispy and just a little bit of salt. I think there is a coating on them, maybe just a flour dredge, that gets super crunchy, and leaves the inside soft and moist. Think the kind of fries you get at the Costco food court, those amazingly crunchy fries. These are those. I usually need ketchup with my fries, but these I can eat plain because they have such a great flavor all on their own.
So if you ever find yourself on a small highway in the backcountry of Alberta and see a sign for Rimbey, do yourself a favor and detour down to the east end of the main drag, and stop in at Roger's. They have a huge menu, so there's something for everyone. And their milkshakes are killer!!
